Learning is delivered through play-based pedagogy. This means that learning is hands-on, interactive and meaningful to the young child. The Kindergarten teacher uses their insight of the child’s needs and interests, as well as their understanding of the Reception year to ensure an educational program that best suits the individual child.

At RICE, the Kindergarten children will receive:

  • A craft kit (supplies to engage in craft throughout the year)
  • A variety of Kindergarten resource kits to borrow (with fun educational resources)
  • Online lessons through a program called Webex
  • Termly Face-to-face Kindy catch-ups, “Kindy Experience Week”
  • Kindy visits, in the form of playdays or home visits
  • A regularly updated Kindergarten program to follow when learning in the home
